That’s right, a slew of freshly packaged homebrew cultures are available right now in our Shop!
2019 has been the biggest year yet for Bootleg…thanks to you! Bootleg originally started as an overly ambitious, kitchen-based lab. The amount of support you’ve shown since the beginning has allowed us to continue to grow year after year. We’ve heard your request! We’ve been adding capacity to make more yeasties, all without ever sacrificing quality!
Because things have been so crazy this year, we decided to switch up our homebrew culture launch process this time. Instead of doing a pre-sale, we decided to prop as much yeast and bacteria as we could, pack it all up, and slap it on our website.
If you see a homebrew culture available on our website, it is currently in inventory and will ship within a day or two of ordering (we ship Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday only; we won’t be shipping the week of December 23).
Since there are a finite number of packs and we want as many people as possible to be able to order, we’ve capped the order quantities for certain cultures.
For the first time, orders with only homebrew cultures will qualify for Flat Rate shipping. No matter how many total packs you order, it’ll be one low cost. Flat Rate orders will ship via FedEx 2 Day Air, ensuring they get to you quickly and with minimal chill loss.
And one last thing…we’ve made a limited supply of sorghum-propagated, gluten-free OSLO! If you’re looking to make mead, wine, cider, or seltzer that is gluten free and still uses a very clean-tasting and quickly-fermenting yeast like OSLO, you’re now set! We started experimenting with gluten-free propagation at the request of our good friends Speciation Artisan Ales. Check out their OSLO-fermented hard seltzer made with Michigan beet sugar, whole Canadian rhubarb, and hibiscus flowers.
Let us know what you think about Gluten Free OSLO and if you might be interested in other cultures propagated without gluten.
IN OTHER BIG NEWS
Homebrew Con 2020 will be in Nashville, June 18-20! Mark your calendars for a once in a life time trip to Music City and the home of Bootleg Biology.
Since we’ll be hosting next year’s Homebrew Con, we just had to put a ton of fun plans in the works. Of course we don’t want to ruin the surprise. More details coming in the near future!
