Back in spring of 2019, we had just released OSLO — our clean-fermenting, lager-like Kveik isolate — and were gearing for the Craft Brewers Conference in Denver.
Naturally, we felt other brewers in attendance should get a taste of our new culture, so a collab was arranged with our buds at Our Mutual Friend and Sapwood Cellars for the first commercially made beer with OSLO!
We decided on a hazy pale ale that would pay homage to Norwegian farmhouse tradition with the inclusion of juniper berries. The result was Scenic Norway – a refreshing, hoppy beer with a touch of wintergreen.
RECIPE: 5 Gallons
8 lb (3.6 kg) Pilsner
1.25 lb (.5 kg) White Wheat
1.25 lb (.5 kg) Malted Oats

60-min boil
1 oz (28 g) Juniper berries with 5 minutes remaining in boil
Ferment with OSLO at 85F (30C) to terminal
Three days before packaging, add the dry hops:
2 oz (56 g) El Dorado (15% AA)
2 oz (56 g) Simcoe (13%)
1.25 oz (35 g) CTZ (15.5%)
