BBENG1 – Classic English

Availability: Limited, Bootleg Classic.

Source:  English brewery known for pub-style ales

Classic English produces soft, juicy, and tropical fruit flavors when fermenting beers made with citrusy hops. This culture has become the de facto standard for making hazy New England-style IPAs in addition to the Classic New England culture. Ideal for fermenting Milkshake IPA, Brut IPA and other IPA sub-styles.

Traditionally used for making ester-driven Porters, Stouts, Pale Ales, Bitters, and most English-style ales.

  1. Stu (verified owner)

Used this yeast for an American Pale Ale (2-row and Pale Ale malt with Centennial and Falconer’s Flight) and couldn’t be more pleased. Nice subtle esters that really make the citrusy hop qualities pop while providing some nice complexity and backbone. Fermented fast and flocculated nicely leaving a compact yeast cake. Highly recommend this strain!

  2. Stu (verified owner)

Highly recommend this yeast. I used it in a simple APA and it added a nice complexity and complemented/accentuated the hops (Centennial and Falconer’s Flight). Fermented quickly and flocculated well -leaving a compact yeast cake. Recommend to all for hoppy styles.
