PCR Testing: 1 Business Day Turnaround, or 3 Business Days Turnaround

Receive rapid genetic-based results to determine contamination from:

  • Saccharomyces var diastaticus
  • Acetic Acid Bacteria (AAB)
  • Brettanomyces
  • Hop-Resistant Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) [Some LAB are not hop-resistant but can still contaminate low or 0 IBU beer/wort]
  • Megasphaera
  • Pectinatus

All PCR tests receive complimentary additional agar plating to enumerate level of contamination and confirm viability of contaminants.

Agar Plating

Plate your samples on three unique selective or differential agar media. Bootleg Biology will use our extensive culture knowledge to help you determine contamination and problematic wild yeast and bacteria.

What We Need

  • Packaged Beer: At least one bottle or can per unique beer being tested.
  • FV or Brite Beer: At least one 50ml sample. Must be shipped overnight with cold pack in sterile/sanitized liquid-tight container.

Once your order has been placed, you will receive an email with instructions for sending in your sample(s).
