Contamination Testing – PCR (Wine)


Package your wine in a can or bottle and have concerns about shelf stability? Is your fermentation exhibiting unusual pH, gravity, turbidity or off flavors like VOCs? Do you want to proactively catch problematic contaminants in juice before it spreads throughout your facility?

PCR testing provides quick, genetic-based results that can confirm contamination and help prevent further issues. As well, PCR can uncover early microbial contaminations that are otherwise undetectable using traditional plating or organoleptic techniques.

PCR Testing – One Business Day Turn Around Time

Receive rapid genetic-based contamination results at concentrations as low as 10 CFUs per mL of:

  • Pediococcus
  • Oenoccoccus
  • Acetobacter
  • Gluconobacter
  • Lactobacillus
  • Brettanomyces
  • Zygosaccharomyces
  • Saccharomyces

What We Need

  • Packaged Wine: At least two bottles or cans per unique wine being tested.
  • Juice or Must: At least two 50ml samples. Must be shipped overnight with cold pack in sterile/sanitized liquid-tight container.
